A discussion of the various district Assessments can be found on the district website under Academics and then Assessments. In addition to information about each assessment, you can also find resources to help you prepare your student.
Your child can order on as many or as few hot lunch/milk days as they choose. The menu will be sent home monthly.
Students will go outside for recess if the wind chill is above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and if it is not raining.
All food not eaten in the lunch period needs to be disposed in the trash cans in the lunch room. Your student does have a quiet time where there is no talking so they are not distracted from eating.
There are many opportunities via Ellsworth Home and School (H&S) and Ellsworth School Family Community Partnership (SFCP). Volunteer opportunities can be found on the Get Involved channel's Volunteer Programs section. Opportunities to sign up to volunteer are also available during Orientation.
NO FOOD may be sent to school in honor of birthday celebrations. The child can be honored in a variety of ways other then the sharing of edible treats. Recommended "treats" include: stickers, pencils, or a donation of a book to the LRC in your child's name. Please contact the classroom teacher with your intent prior to sending "treats".
All items not claimed are placed on the "Lost and Found" rack located just inside of the north entrance to the building. To help this process, please clearly mark personal items with your child's first/last name. The Lost and Found is checked periodically. Items are kept on the rack for 30 days before being donated to Goodwill.
To report a change in after school plans for your student, either for the day or permanently, notify Ellsworth of the change in writing by sending an email to EllsworthGeneral@naperville203.org AND the teacher or a handwritten note stating the change and providing specific instructions about how to dismiss the student. If plans change mid-day, communication must be received by the office by 1:30pm.
Students will not be dismissed, released or otherwise sent away from school different from established routines without proper notification. This is particularly true for students riding the bus.
Full information showing emergency closings can be found at School Closings.
The K-5th grade school day on early dismissal (or half days) will be 8:15-11:35am.
